To effectively fight prejudice vs. bipolars, one bipolar has to be brutally honest about who s/he is. The only cure for the (inner) prejudice against mental illness: deeply intimate, “inner,” stories written in first person. So I wrote Carried Away: Autobiography of a Bipolar Psychologist. Someone fighting a prejudice that lurks at the very core of the human psyche must go right down to that core.
