Young Writers

This group is a place for young writers to gather. We categorize young writers from middle school, High School until 30 although we will not hold to arbitrary age limits. Tell us your concerns and your dreams. Share your work and learn about the writing life. There is no time like the present. You can also network with industry insiders.

Thanks for the invite! I have several self published collections of poems for a general audience and YA audience. As well as a poetry series for elementary children called Fruit of my Labor. The character JJ McShay introduces the different forms and styles of poetry to children in the series.

I'm writing for the YA market, just as young writers are writing for this same market. We need TRUTH to come to light in this market. That is why I joined this group. I hope to learn as well as write well for this market.

I'm outside the age bracket, but I do appreciate the invitation to the group, Deb.  And this is a great idea for a group - there are definitely young writers I know who could benefit from this.

"Are Young Writers Taken Seriously By Editors and Publishers?"

For the most part Editors won't know your age. You will be judged on the merit of your work entirely. (A good and sometimes painful thing.)
